Cal Fire broke its word. It's time to hold the line. Date: Saturday, August 15. Time: 12pm to 2pm. Location: Fort Bragg Town Hall 363 N. Main Street, Fort Bragg. For information contact The Coalition to Save Jackson Demonstration State Forest at savejacksonforest@gmail.com or visit www.savejackson.org

CAL FIRE promised to halt new logging at Jackson Demonstration State Forest after the 2020-2021 protests until the Forest Management Plan was updated. In December 2025, it broke that promise, approving nearly 500 acres of logging near Chamberlain Creek just days after public comment closed and months before any final plan exists.

Now CAL FIRE is moving forward with plans for more logging and road-building at Camp 8 South, even as the Legislature considers AB 2494, a bill that would prioritize Tribal Co-Management, ecological restoration, and climate resilience, over commercial timber in managing these forests.
